The vibrant world of Britannia, initially explored in the early 1980s Ultima games, has transformed into an online adventuring ground for thousands of players through Ultima Online. UO initially showcased its world using the flat 2-D graphics from older Ultima games. While this was acceptable at first, players started to voice their dissatisfaction once more advanced graphics technology became available. In response, Electronic Arts introduced Third Dawn, featuring sharp new 3-D character graphics and more, to cater to its loyal community.

In addition to the enhanced graphics, Third Dawn introduced an additional landmass that offers even greater challenges and rewards for UO players. It also incorporated new monsters into the UO landscape and featured new weapons and armor with an oriental/samurai aesthetic for combat. Ultima Online now boasts improved graphics, music, and sound effects, providing players with a more immersive experience in the beautiful world of Britannia.

Ultima Online is a multiplayer online game played through the Internet and requires a stable Internet connection to play. Electronic Arts charges a small monthly fee for the game, which is separate from your Internet service provider access charges. The first month's fee is included in the purchase price of the package, and a valid credit card is required for registration and gameplay. After the first month, players have the option to use their credit card to purchase more game time.
